I keep hearing/reading about this new cable thing where eventually, instead of just a basic cable plan, you'll be able to pick your own channels. I don't know if it'll be like 15 channels for $20, or a $2 per channel kinda deal because, well, I work all day, so I don't come home and read text (um, isn't that why LJ and TV were invented?). Seems like Napster for TV, the way I understand it, but with channels not just shows.
Discuss this, kiddos: If you had this kind of deal, what channels would you pick? And let's assume that your local news and networks like ABC, NBC, FOX, WB, etc are included as a given. Wanna tell WHY you'd pick them? Have at it.
MTV and VH1 - ONTDers, please. A reason is not necessary
TNT and TBS - I'm not sure I'm comfortable with a Friends and Law and Order re-run less life
Lifetime - We all need a guilty pleasure movie on a lame-o Sunday afternoon
BET - Comicview makes my day, and 106 and Park has hot performances on occasion
E! - Duh.
HGTV and TLC - Decorator stuff gets me going
USA - Decent reruns, decent movies, and Monk.
If premium channels are in this mix, I sure would love me some HBO.
I probably want more, but I don't like to appear greedy.
Do we need a source here? Mine is http://money.aol.com/bw/general/canvas3?id=20051207132109990001
. I don't know how to make a link. Cut and paste like the olden days.
